Born with a congenital heart defect, LaQuitta has faced life’s challenges with unwavering faith and determination. Her first open-heart surgery at the age of 7 marked the beginning of a journey defined by resilience and perseverance.
As an only child, LaQuitta excelled academically, graduating 6th in her high school class. She became the first in her family to graduate from college, earning her degree from Columbus State University. Her academic path also included studies at UGA and Georgia Southwestern, all supported by the transformative Upward Bound program.
LaQuitta went on to build a successful career in the corporate world, excelling in roles such as business analysis, project management, and product ownership. However, her health journey including two additional open-heart surgeries and adapting to life with a mechanical heart valve and pacemaker—led her to reevaluate her life’s purpose. In 2022, she made the bold decision to leave the corporate world and pursue her long-held dream of a career in real estate.
